|(Nanowerk News) China will boost the integrated circuit (IC) sector at a “state strategy” level over the next five years through 2015, Yang Xueshan, vice minister of industry and information technology has said.|

2 Rules for Making
Global Meetings Work
With people spread across locations and time zones, global teams can struggle to run effective meetings. Distance isn’t an excuse for bad meeting etiquette though. Here are two policies that can make your far-flung team’s meeting easier:

Robot in Japanese reactors detects high radiation
(great article from USA Today) –
The robots, along with remote controlled miniature helicopters, have enabled TEPCO to photograph and take measurements of conditions in and around the plant while minimizing the workers’ exposure to radiation and other hazards.
My Note –
There needs to be robots like these on the sites of every single US and global nuclear power plant. They need to be making contracts for have them right now, because it is obvious what difference that can make after seeing the Fukushima disaster with workers trying to get into control rooms with flashlights to see the dials.
Many of the ones that went to Japan to help with Fukushima came from the US companies making them. That is a good business plan and there needs to be more options like that for these kinds of industrial plant disasters including the ones at nuclear power plants. China and the US sent huge robotic pumps also that could douse the reactor buildings with water. Amazing. It would have been better if these things had been there in the first place and the disaster likely wouldn’t have evolved as it did spraying its radioactive releases across the surrounding territory which now have drifted around the entire globe.
