From the Washington Times article link below comes this statement from the New Jersey governor – more info on him below it –

Christie said that the state is currently confronted with an $11 billion budget deficit on a $29 billion budget.

via Pugnacious Christie vows to push harder – Washington Times.

That’s why after his state spent billions of dollars toward installing a high speed rail that was going to be funded by the federal stimulus dollars, he stopped the project and wasted tens of billions of dollars.

And, he is going to spend his time and efforts pushing to get more cuts and more cuts to the federal budget while his state is facing a deficit of nearly a full third of their budget?

His wife worked for an investment firm and he what?

In 1998 Christie registered as a lobbyist for the firm of Dughi, Hewit & Palatucci, alongside fellow partner and later, gubernatorial campaign fundraiser Bill Palatucci. Between 1999 and 2001, Christie and Palatucci lobbied on behalf of, among others, GPU Energy for deregulation of New Jersey’s electric and gas industry; (and lobbied for) the Securities Industry Association to block the inclusion of securities fraud under the state’s Consumer Fraud Act;

(and)

Controversy surrounded his appointment; some members of the New Jersey Bar professed disappointment at Christie’s lack of criminal law experience and his history as a top fundraiser for George W. Bush‘s 2000 presidential campaign.[11] The extent of the role played by Bush’s political adviser, Karl Rove, also became an issue after Christie’s law partner, William Palatucci, a Republican political consultant and Bush supporter, boasted that he had selected a United States attorney by forwarding Christie’s résumé to Rove.[12]

Claims of misuse of deferred prosecution agreements

Christie has been accused of using his office’s role in crafting deferred prosecution agreements to award lucrative federal monitoring positions in no-bid contracts to friends, supporters, and allies.[20]

Questions first arose after Christie awarded a multimillion dollar, no-bid contract to David Kelley, another former U.S. Attorney, who had investigated Christie’s brother, Todd Christie, in a 2005 fraud case involving traders at the Wall Street firm, Spear, Leeds & Kellogg.[21][22]

Kelley had declined to prosecute Todd Christie, who had been ranked fourth in the investigation-initiating U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) complaint among twenty traders who earned the largest profits for their company at the expense of their customers. The top three were indicted, as were eleven other traders.[23]

from the Washington Times article –

The former state’s attorney’s willingness to take on entrenched interests in his state, highlighted in a string of viral videos in which he pugnaciously takes on his critics, has electrified Republican voters and spurred talk of a possible White House run for Mr. Christie in 2012 – a race he said again Wednesday he has no plans to enter.

But Mr. Christie in his remarks did dismiss President Obama‘s new budget priorities as “candy” that ignores the country’s biggest funding problems, discussed the tough steps needed to tackle his state’s budget woes, and said it would be necessary to “separate the teachers from the union” to achieve real education reform.

So, apparently pompous may be too good a word for him but evidently he and his Republican buddies plan to literally cause the deaths and suffering of Americans across this nation during the worst economic disaster this nation has ever suffered.

That would be the same economic disaster, I might add, that was directly caused by him and his Republican cronies that obviously he knows very, very well and that he with his Wall Street buddies created and that he serves, worships and enriches.

And Mr. Republican Tea Party guy in Florida is right along with him

Scott implied that the ridership projection he cited were inflated because Amtrak’s Acela fast train between Washington and Boston carried only 3.2 million passengers in 2010, even though far more people live in the Northeast Corridor. However, PolitiFact Florida noted that an additional 7.15 million people rode regional rail lines in the Northeast last year and rated Scott’s comparison “half true.”

(and)

However, a senior aide to (Transportation Secretary Ray) LaHood said that concern about long-term deficits had never been voiced by Scott: “We could have negotiated this issue in a final agreement with Florida if they had continued with negotiations. Governor Scott never raised this issue, and the DOT never intended to put the state on the hook for decades to come.”

It also says –

Florida’s congressional delegation, state officials and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer are pushing back against Gov. Rick Scott‘s decision Wednesday to reject $2.4 billion in federal stimulus money to build a high-speed train between Orlando and Tampa.

My question is this –

Has this elitist Republican governor noted the high speed rail systems that are everywhere in the world except in America? Is there a reason he wants to keep America and Florida as backwards as possible, while denying jobs to thousands in Florida who need them?

He was forced to resign as Chief Executive of Columbia/HCA in 1997 amid a scandal over the company’s business and Medicare billing practices; the company ultimately admitted to fourteen felonies and agreed to pay the federal government over $600 million.[3][4][5][6][7] Scott later became a venture capitalist, and entered into politics in 2010, when he announced his intention to run for Governor of Florida.

So, after being in charge of a company that defrauded Medicare through its billing practices and being fined $600 million, the people voting Republican in Florida thought – yeah, that is just the guy to be our governor? Let’s see what else he can muck up?

Was that what they were thinking?

And, is there some reason that he is bound and determined to destroy Florida and our nation and cause sure suffering to the  people of America and his state?

His early history does say a lot –

Its like an army of Republican stock market representatives are running every one of these states where they’ve taken power –

Scott practiced law in Dallas, Texas. He was a partner at Johnson & Swanson, which was the largest law firm in Dallas at that time. One of his major clients was Tom Hicks of HM Capital Partners.

And, their friends and financial supporters keep being the same jackasses that made the financial mess in the first place which has brought the American economy to absolute financial ruin.

Then – their every idea is to cut anything that might help people and get them on their feet or provide for their future opportunities at the same time, increasing salaries and opportunities to their sorry stock broker friends to continue to scam the state budgets as they already have which caused the deficits in the first place.

Talk about corruption – people are voting for elected officials that they already know are corrupt, elitist, uncaring, wealthy and far-removed from any good sense whatsoever when they elect them.

Damn.

And they are this bunch screaming about it now – after they are those very same Republican Party members that created this mess?

They aren’t cutting everything – there are plenty of things the Republicans want to increase by literally billions of taxpayer dollars – it just isn’t the things that will serve taxpayers, American families, America’s people, America’s small businesses or in fact, America.

The budget cuts demanded by Republicans can be found below – note that increases for federal judges salaries, for the House budget, for the State Department, for the Justice Department information sharing system, for the homeland security administration ($488 million just for this year) –

http://republicans.appropriations.house.gov/_files/ProgramCutsFY2011ContinuingResolution.pdf

These are the same people that get paid higher than 90% of America, gave tax cuts to the rich – again despite claiming that we needed all this money in order to make up for the “deficit” they’re so concerned about now . . .

And, the Republicans and Conservatives said that would fix everything because those wealthy Americans would then put that money into our economy and support businesses in our communities and all sorts of good things. But, they have no intention of that. The only thing they obviously intend to do is find every way possible in every single state and community to take money away from every single citizen, from every town, from every city, from every infrastructure project and from every poor, elderly, disabled, disadvantaged, homeless, jailed, destitute, sick, unemployed, and from every child, every family, every school and every public resource available to better our opportunities (while supporting dictators by the billions a year – $1.5 billion to Pakistan a year, $1.5 billion to Egypt each year, several times that to Israel and to countless other nations plus other money at the same rates for other things . . . but not for us.)

It was our tax money that they have their hands on. None of them made that money themselves.

They have no right to give it away while destroying America in the process. It isn’t even helping where they are sending it. The only thing it has done so far is to insure people are tortured, brutalized, kept impoverished, tortured, denied freedoms and denied rights around the world every damn last place they’ve given them our money.

And, it turns out that voters are electing and re-electing Republicans to office that they know are proven to be corrupt, proven to have done massively wrong things, proven to be up to no good, and proven to have taken the nation, the states and our American businesses straight down to nothing from its great strength before they got ahold of it.

I just don’t get it.

Maybe they just look at America like this and we are all in the way –

I wrote that and then found this and thought to post it – This is a chart of the Shale Gas Plays in the US which tears up everything getting at it –

I had just seen this in my files – we actually paid for this information to be found and researched, and charted by the USGS – our taxpayer paid funds for the USGS – and I wonder, if those damn money hungry bastards in Washington and around Wall Street are thinking we really are just in the way . . .

Oh damn.

Bet you didn’t know that.
