22. Enhance language capabilities. Language regardless of nationality, dialect, colloquialism, linguistics or grammar is intended for one purpose and one purpose only - to communicate and to understand. That is one thing - a two-way street - that is one thing - “Communication”. A one-way street is not language and is not communication. There is a dialogue, there is not communication occurring. When understanding occurs, communication has happened. Language serves no other real purpose except maybe to study for the sake of interest. Increase language / communication / understanding skills by doing them, using them, learning more about them and learning to use the ones you have.
To work with the suggestions above, everyday do some on each of them. Put down the book and start applying what has been taken from the book. Start at the back of the book or the middle or durn near anywhere but if you are reading every last “the”, “and” or obsessed to read it from beginning to end, every word - stop doing it that way. Feast on the information found through these areas of literacy and use the curiosity, wonder and exploration that every child knows and every adult remembers. It is still in you to explore, discover and wonder at learning, knowledge, know-how and experimentation with new things.
